TP Tidbits, Straight From His Center

Hey look! A new post! Sorry there hasn’t been a lot to report with the team doing their own thing with 7-on-7′s ahead of the start of Fall Camp, August 10th.

The Plain Dealer did a Q&A with Mike Brewster, fellow Brew Crewer and starting Center for the team. In it, he gives us a little update on how Terrelle is looking this summer.

PD: Why do you say your technique was terrible?

Pretty much last year, me and Terrelle were playing off athletic instinct and God-given athletic ability. This year he’s working on his throwing and I’m working on my knowledge and lifting and my hands and my technique. I’m excited to see what I can do when I know what I’m doing.

I’ve always loved the work ethic of the team; from the Frosh all the way through the 5 year seniors.

PD: What kind of improvements did you see in spring practice?

MB: I know Terrelle was working hard on his throwing and his reads and he has definitely come a long way. He ran a 4.3 this spring, so he has to be one of the fastest quarterbacks in the country at 235 [pounds].

Yes, folks. A 4.3 40 yd dash.

PD: Do things feel different for your class because you’re sophomores now?

MB: I feel like we’re a bunch of guys who are on the edge and about to break out. We’ll see. Once we get into the fire, we’ll see how we’re going to compete next year.

People say Terrelle can’t throw. I don’t really read the Internet, but some people sent me stuff of people talking me down, and I put it on a word document just to remind myself. If I feel tired today, go read that guy saying you’re not any good. I feel like we all have something to prove.

Standing up for his quarterback. And doing so without tears. Nice little interview. Very impressed with Brew.
