TP’s First Spring Presser

Even though there have been stories here and there (mostly from the Dispatch) featuring quotes from Terrelle, there hadn’t been an organized session for the media this spring…until today.

After practice, which was once again open to the media, TP2 met with media members.

Here are some highlights:

1. TP hates looking at his own film performance from last season. He is disgusted by it.

“It just disgusts me. I can’t believe I didn’t know that, but now I know it.

2. TP wants to become a more complete QB, which means improving his passing game. He knows he’s got work to do. Referring to the receiving weapons he has as targets:

“We’ve got some playmakers who need the ball and can run the ball 70 yards after the catch. I want to give them the ball. I want to feed them. They’re hungry, too.”

3. As previously reported, TP has been doing work in the weight room and looks more like a defensive end or linebacker, than a QB. He says he’s added 7-8 pounds of muscle. Sure looks like it!

4. TP has revenge on the mind.

“There are teams out there waiting for us. And there’s teams out there we owe stuff to.”

5. He knows that this is his team now. He likes the role of being a leader and wants to become great at that as well.

“On the offensive side, that’s my offense and I’m going to run it. That’s how it’s going to be. I had to grow up (last year) and it’s just going to keep getting easier and easier and easier. I feel I’m going to become a great leader.”

Earlier in the day, the Dispatch ran a story about how TP is becoming a leader on an off the field. He even turned in a 3.0+ GPA performance for the winter quarter.

Practice notes are available from Cleveland Plain Dealer, ESPN’s Big Ten Blog, Canton Rep, and the Columbus Dispatch. The Ozone will have a report, as well as video later on.
