UT Coach Mack Brown is a TP Fan

And why shouldn’t he be? He, too, tried to recruit Terrelle to his school. You’d be hard pressed to find a Div 1 college football coach who wasn’t after TP. And, for a while, Texas was on his list. It wasn’t one of the final 3, but I believe they were in his final 8.

So, Mack saw plenty of tape on TP2 while he was in high school. He knew what he could do. And in prepping his team to face Terrelle in the Fiesta Bowl, he’s seen the impact TP made this season as a true frosh who did not enroll early.

During a media session yesterday to preview the Fiesta Bowl, Brown gave a bold prediction that Buckeye fans will enjoy reading:

“We recruited Terrelle and thought he was the best quarterback in the country last year and he’s shown that already on the field. And I don’t think there’s any doubt Jim will win a national championship with Terrelle, when you look at his ability and his confidence and Jim’s ability to put things together. I just hope it’s not on the 5th.”

Might want to check out some more of his answers from the presser. Seriously. I know coaches tend to slather their opponents with compliments, but his responses were great and in line with what a lot of our insiders are predicting/reporting. It’s also interesting to read a transcript that isn’t dripping in Tressel-speak. So that’s what it’s like on the outside!

Always liked the Texas program. In a lot of ways they remind me of OSU’s. School with great tradition and talent, led by a classy coach. And I absolutely love Austin, TX. Been there quite a few times in the past few years visiting friends and it doesn’t get much more fun than 6th St. Believe that!

Here’s to a great Fiesta Bowl against the Texas Longhorns!
