Pregame Postage: Michigan

There isn’t much more to say is there?

In my previous post, where I expressed my impatience at gameday actually getting here, I spoke of my confidence. It’s still there. It’s a tad more tempered than if it were any other team, because it’s The Game. I was extremely nervous last week for the Illinois game. I’m talking butterflies in my stomach. Their weapons scared me! Michigan’s do not. I knew that Illinois was hot and cold all season, but they still have been able to put together some complete games.

Michigan has looked unbeatable at times, but have yet to put together a complete game. They show flashes, though; usually for a quarter or two. Had they been able to put together 4 quarters of that quality of play, then they would have been able to win a lot more than 3 games this season.

But that’s not the case with this year’s Michigan team. They tend to self destruct and take themselves out of games. And today they are without their starting QB and top offensive lineman. The bright spots for them are their running back stable and their punter, Zoltan Mesko (Is that not a badass name?)

The Wolverine defensive line is pretty good too. If our evil Oline shows up for the game tomorrow, the Michigan ‘D’ could wreak some havoc. Let’s hope they’ve been kicked off the island permanently and we get last week’s line that did not allow a sack.

My prediction: TP2 and Beanie will run wild. I’d like to see some more passing, but Coach Tress knows that isn’t our strong suit right now. Plus, if we get up big, early on, we allllll know he’ll shut it down and run the clock out. Terrelle will fully embrace the rivalry and show out. It’s what he does. Todd Boeckman will get some meaningful minutes and connect with Robiskie for at least 1 TD. The seniors on defense will dominate and dictate the game. Even if the offense struggles at times, the ‘D’ will bail them out. I don’t do the score prediction thing, but I feel a nice win will be the outcome. I don’t believe we’ll cover the 20.5 point spread, but that’s not important to me. All I want is a nice ‘W’ with some highlight reel-worthy plays.

Watch the game at noon on ABC.

Go Bucks!
