Charlie Weis is an Idiot
Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis figured Terrelle wouldn’t be able to cut it as a QB, so his backup plan was to use him as a wideout for Notre Dame. This was back in 2007 when he tried — and failed — to recruit TP.
Can you believe this clown?
He also thought that if Terrelle spent just 3 days under his tutelage, that he’d be transformed into a show stoppin’ QB.
If he’s with me for one day he’ll be good, two days he’ll be great and three days he’ll be incredible.”
To add insult to injury, TP’s coach at Jeannette, Ray Reitz, was not a fan of Weis, calling him “arrogant as hell”. Get in line RR. People have been talking about Weis’ arrogance for years now; and not just fans of opposing programs. Former players and alums aren’t too fond of him either.
You just know Charlie thought he’d take the ND coaching job and they’d be in the BCS Championship game in no time! Using Ty Willingham recruits, Notre Dame did aight. But since then, a large shipment of fail has landed in South Bend. That really shouldn’t be the case seeing as “highly ranked” their recruiting classes have been. Could it possibly be *gasp* the coaching?!?!
Anyway, the Chicago Tribune broke it down in an entertaining piece today. Gives a little insight into how Weis attempted to recruit TP to Notre Dame. Great read if you enjoy laughing at the expense of a well-known asshat like Charlie Weis.
