Welcome back to the Terrelle Pryor Show! Can this kid ball, or what? There were several wow moments in this game; plays that I thought were dead or headed for a sack, where TP2 pulled out something amazing! It’s such a treat watching him evolve as a quarterback week after week. You can actually see him improving!
I don’t know what it is about Northwestern. It seems like whenever Ohio State faces them on the field, they blow them out of the stadium! I was not expecting a Michigan State-esque type performance from this team today. Rebound indeed!
Actually this game was better than the Sparty one. This was an offensive explosion! The scoring in the MSU game was split pretty evenly between the offense and the defense. The defense did their fair share of creating turnovers today, but they didn’t score points, and that’s perfectly fine with me! I needed to see something out of this offense and boy did I get that! Some of the early play calls were head scratchers, as it appeared we were falling into that oh-so-predictable run-run-pass pattern. And the Oline was frustrating early on. Clearly, adjustments were made, and combined with Terrelle’s ability to keep a play alive with his legs, the Buckeyes found a groove and never looked back!
TP2 finished 9 of 14 for 197 yards, including 3 TDs. On the ground, he contributed 33 yards. A key stat was that TP did not turn the ball over today.
In A Nutshell…
It was great to see Todd Boeckman out there, away from home where the classless fans can’t boo him.
I don’t care what anyone says. I loved that fake punt call! Finally some variation in the playcalling!
I saw that Beanie brought back the “Beanie-hop”. Love it!
Anyone else noice how Alex Boone pushes the RBs forward mid-run? An extra momemtum push perhaps? Whatever it is, it makes me laugh.
Andre Ware is a tool. GTFO with all that talk about running up the score.
So which is it, folks? JT gets aggressive and people whine that he’s being classless. We win by 5 points then people bitch about how we need to score points. Believe it or not, this OSU squad needs style points at this point in the season. Sorry NU, but that fell on you. There’s no crying in football.
JT, we know you like your rep as a compassionate coach, but never ever frown when one of your players scores. Boom fought like hell to get in the endzone. If you didn’t want him to score, take a knee and problem solved.
Nice to see another true frosh, Nate Williams, making some noise for this team. Gonna be a good one for the defense.
Someone needs to provide better notes to the moron announcers in the booth. TP did not come in to OSU in January. He didn’t even pick OSU until late March! His OSU development started in June, not January.
Did Illinois really lose to Western Michigan? Wow… No doubt we’ll still get their best game next week.
