“Scarlet Fever” Set For PSU Game

I took a picture of the scoreboard after the Purdue game, where it was first announced that Ohio State wanted fans to rock Scarlet for the big Penn State game. Besides this game largely impacting both teams’ outcome as far as conference and bowl game finishes, it’s also Homecoming. So to pump up a fanbase that really doesn’t need it, the University has called for “Scarlet Fever” theme to the game.

Yes, it’s cheesy. “Color outs” are overdone and don’t have an outcome on the game. Besides, from the games I’ve been to, most Buckeye fans wear Scarlet anyway. The only difference I think we’ll see is the addition of “Scarlet rally towels”, which will be given to the first 80,000 fans. That’s new for the ‘Shoe and should look pretty awesome should the crowd actually use them properly!

Another reason this game is huge is because 5-star DT Corey Adams (AZ) is making his official recruiting visit that weekend. He is what many consider to be a must-get recruit who would likely play right away here. He’s been an OSU fan for years and says gameday atmosphere is very important to him. We should all feel good about our chances!
