Ugly Wins Are Still Wins

For those of you who watched from home, let me tell you it couldn’t have been more painful or frustrating to watch than live and in person. I promise you that! I can’t believe we couldn’t register an offensive touchdown against Purdue. Just plain ugly. Leaving the ‘Shoe, you would have thought OSU lost by the silence of the crowed as we all filed out!

But a win is still a win and we needed one to keep moving along in conference play. This game was a stinker, but I hope the team gets all that funk out of their system before the trip to East Lansing to play Michigan St. next week. If we show up playing like we did today then, MSU will run us off the field!

Also, will someone please let Terrelle know that if a play breaks down it’s ok to a) throw the ball away or b) take off running. The key to doing either of those is that he has to make that call much, much sooner.

Do we have any more healthy O-line men? No seriously. JB Shugarts wasn’t in pads. I saw Boone get banged up (his concerned mother was a few rows in front of me) and then a couple of plays later Big Mike Adams limped off the field. After halftime he was on crutches with a boot on his left foot.

I saw a lot of recruits/visitors sitting around me. Wonder what they thought. No matter how bad we looked, Purdue looked worse. And hey, at least we didn’t lose to Toledo or Minnesota today. Things could definitely be worse!

Final Score: 16-3

TP2′s stats: 10/14 for 97 yds (passing) and 27 yds rushing

Future Looks Bright: True freshman truly impacted this game. Etienne Sabino scored the only TD of the game from a blocked punt he recovered. And 2 of TP’s roommates stepped up in the receiving game. BFF DeVier Posey was the leading receiver while Flash Thomas contributed with a big reception and in the return game.

Here’s to hoping the team washes all that stank off themselves and regroups. They’ll have TBDBITL with them in East Lansing next week. That should help them rise to the occasion.
