Ouch

That was beyond painful, but not just because of the final score, 35-3.

It was also painful because it was clear to many, myself and the commentators included, that there was a siginificant difference in how OSU played based on who was behind center. And for most of the game that clear advantage wasn’t seized by the coaching staff, resulting in numerous turnovers, broken plays, and loss of momentum.

Terrelle is the future of this program and the more he gets into the game for the remainder of the season, the better. But with how similar scenarios have played out throughout the conference, I think the staff sticks with Boeckman. I hope, for the team’s sake, that TP continues to get as many or more touches as he did tonight. We need to prepare him for next season.

Terrelle looked great and poised on the field. Not the easiest thing for a true freshman who has been living under a microscope for years. He finished 7 of 9 for 52 yds in the air and rushed 11 times for 40 yds. Another highlight is that he was responsible for NO turnovers.

While it sucks to lay an egg on the National stage, again, it’s still early in the season. The Big Ten title can still be won, along with a trip to the Rose Bowl. Lots to play for, so here’s to hoping that everyone — the team included — keeps their heads up.

I hope those who were originally planning on attending next week’s Troy game at the ‘Shoe keep that date in their weekly plans. The team needs our support. And provided I hit the jackup on Ticketmaster.com, I’ll be there again as well. Go Bucks!
