BTN, Time Warner Reach Deal
ABOUT FREAKIN’ TIME!
A few hours ago, the big wigs at the Big Ten Network and Time Warner Cable finally came to terms on adding the network to the cable company’s “expanded basic service”, whatever that is.
That means you won’t need to purchase TW’s “sports tier” in order to see the Bucks play.
The news only broke a couple of hours or so ago, so specifics about the deal — such as which channel it will air on — are not yet available. I will update this post when I know more.
I honestly think last week’s email and strong recommendation from Gene Smith helped move both parties towards an agreement. Time Warner peeps were about to jump ship, so they had to get a deal done right away! Do we have a great Athletic Director or what?!
ETA: Central Ohio Time Warner subscribers can watch the Big Ten Network on channel 24.
