I Defy Authority

You know it! I rolled up in the ‘Shoe with my camera and I took pictures. No one said anything to me or any of the other fans who were toting their cameras. It aint no thang! It’s not so much that I was really dying to take pictures. It’s that I was told I couldn’t. And like a young child, I laugh in the face of those who try to tell me what I can and cannot do. It’s a matter of principle.

Here’s where irony makes an entrance. I was so into watching the team practice that I wasn’t even thinking about taking pictures most of the night. I wanted to see how TP looked, and was not disappointed. He ran the #3 offense behind Boecks and Bauserman.
Showing the fans what he can do
It’s being estimated that 12,000 of us fans came out tonight to see the open practice. Some were there early in the afternoon to wait in line. Seriously, people? I showed up around 7:45 and ended up in the 3rd row right in front of where most of the action was. Suckas!

Anyway, we fans weren’t alone. We were joined by the marching band and cheerleaders. For a lot of the freshman, Terrelle included, this was their first action in the ‘Shoe as players — wearing the scarlet and gray — and hearing Hang On Sloopy and the Battle Cry being played for them. Since it was a practice and not a pep rally, they probably couldn’t enjoy the moment as much. But they had to take notice and bask, if only for a second.

A lot of the people around me weren’t familiar with a lot of the Brew Crew, but luckily for them, I am. So they would ask me who was whom. I felt useful. I even pointed out Storm Klein who was roaming the sidelines. RIP to Mike Brewster’s curly locks. Looks like the upperclassmen finally accomplished their head-shaving mission.

Josh Winslow once again comes through with pictures from the practice. He’s quickly becoming my favoritest. See his collection here.

Finally, I’ll leave you with the only video I bothered to take tonight. A wonderful tradition: Carmen Ohio.
