The Recruiter at it Again!
On the heels on yesterday’s post about Terrelle affecting tOSU recruiting, I find another mention in an article heralding Class of 2009 commit #19, RB Carlos Hyde from Naples, FL (Cincinnati native).
Hyde spent the weekend with Terrelle Pryor, the Buckeyes’ highly acclaimed freshman quarterback.
“He really hit it off with him,” [high school coach] Kramer said. “They talked about winning a national championship at Ohio State.”
That’s what I’m talkin ’bout! However, TP can’t take credit for convincing Hyde to commit over the weekend. Carlos made it known before-hand that he aimed to commit during his visit to campus.
But given the way recruits react to Terrelle, they need to pair him with more of the longshot recruits, and not the “locks”. (spare me the lecture on how there are no locks in recruiting. I’ve heard it all before) Hyde was a lock.
And 2 more commits today, the ’09 class totals 22. The Buckeye train is fillin’ up fast! If you’re a recruit with an offer and are seriously considering Ohio State, I suggest you speak now or forever hold your peace.
